This was created, using a Jeweler's saw (sort of like a coping saw), with a thin blade the thickness of thread, drilling a very small hole in each section, inserting the saw blade, and sawing the section out. This is repeated in each small section, then shaped with small chisels, crafted from Jeweler's screwdrivers.

This is basically a Cameo. I shaped the profile, and carved the face out of the shell. The hair and beard are the natural surface of the shell.
